About Me
About Me
I am 27 years old and reside in San Francisco, California with my 8yo Lab-Pit mix, Buju, and two RES turtles, Cheech and Chong. In 2021, I moved into my own studio at Hunters Point Navy Shipyard in San Francisco’s Bayview district, where I am a proud member of The Shipyard Artist community. When I’m not in the studio or working as a nanny, I love gardening, cooking, reading, postcarding, visiting museums, hanging out with my loved ones, and spending time outdoors. I am a current student at San Francisco State University reaching to obtain a B.A. and M.A. in Humanities with a double minor in Museum Studies and Art History with hopes to one day work in a San Francisco museum or gallery.

I am a contemporary abstract artist specializing in the impasto style with an emphasis in color theory. From textured acrylic paintings to surreal collages made from scrap magazines, from stretched canvas to glass mirrors, from architectural photography to watercolor portraits, my original artworks and practices hold no boundaries. I use various kinds of surfaces and primarily use palette knives to bring my ideas to life. While impasto painting certainly adds texture, I additionally recycle the dried paint from my palettes into my paintings. This not only builds texture, but also practices sustainability, as acrylic paint dries as plastic. Alongside my paintings, I make abstract and surreal collages out of magazine and book scraps, and dabble in landscape and architectural photography.
My art is meant to spark emotion and thought deep within each viewer. I believe that abstract art is extremely subjective, and although my artwork may sometimes seem objective, interpretation is completely up to the viewer. I am drawn towards abstract art for this very reason: when I find myself attracted to vibrant colors and intrinsic shapes, I feel something glow within me, and I aspire to make my audiences feel the same when viewing my art.
